Paradiso is a contemporary abstract floral painting. Acrylic on canvas and framed in a white wooden float frame – 121cm tall x 88cm wide.

Paradiso is a vibrant contemporary floral painting celebrating the exuberance, colour and beauty of nature. Richly layered with expressive forms and intricate pattern, the work brings together a joyful garden of oversized blooms, delicate petals, foliage and seed-like details.

A fresh palette of cobalt and turquoise blues, fresh greens, warm yellows, soft blush tones and vivid reds creates a sense of movement and abundance. Against the quiet lavender blue-grey ground, the flowers appear to float and tumble across the canvas, creating both energy and spaciousness.

The intricate mark-making is central to the work, with hundreds of individually painted shapes and fine details giving each bloom its own character. Bold abstracted flowers sit alongside delicate botanical forms, balancing strength with softness and structure with spontaneity.

My original abstract artwork is a celebration of life with bright, expressive pieces layered with colour, texture, and joy

I create my abstract floral artwork from a stand-alone studio at my home in Wellington. My dreams came true in 2021 when I had the studio built.  I had always longed to work from home in a purpose build space.

After working in a career in corporate communications and marketing for many years I turned my attention towards my true passion.  Art making is where my heart lies.  I show my work regularly at National and Regional art events and within galleries throughout New Zealand.

A bit more about my work…

My authentic abstract artwork focuses on the beauty of nature, and predominantly on florals.

I use the elements of colour, composition and organic shapes to evoke feelings of optimism, joy and happiness. It is the combination of these elements that make my work recognisable.
