Description

Popping Candy is a bold statement piece. The work is acrylic on panel and is 90cm in diameter. Popping Candy is finished with a satin varnish.

This large painting needs space and will look fantastic in an entrance, hallway or living room.

The calming pale blue background is offset with bold, yet sophisticated colour. Ther is a lot of movement in this composition and will keep the viewer engaged and interested.

A bit more about me…

I create my artwork from a stand-alone studio at my home in Churton Park, Wellington. My dreams came true in 2021 when I had the studio built.  I had always longed to work from home in a purpose build space. This is because a lot of my inspiration come from my home environment.

After working in a career in corporate communications and marketing for many years I turned my attention towards my true passion.  Art making is where my heart lies.  Proudly self-taught I have graduated from painting in a part time capacity to now working as a full-time artist.  Regularly exhibiting, accepting commissions and developing my professional practice have been the positive consequence of this shift.

A bit more about my work…

My authentic artwork focuses on the beauty of nature, and predominantly on florals.

I enjoy using abstracted shapes to represent florals and foliage. The main areas of focus for me are colour, shape and composition. It is the combination of these elements that make my work recognisable.
