Antheia’s Garden has SOLD. It is a generous floral mixed media piece. It’s 94cm (wide) and 63cm (tall) and framed in pale wood. Antheia’s Garden is finished with a high gloss resin. Antheia’s Garden is inspired by my Greek heritage – specifically Greek mythology. My maternal Grandfather came from a tiny Island called Kastos, in the Ionoian Sea. He married my Nana, a New Zealander, and made NZ his home. I’ve never visited Kastos – but I will one day. There were three Greek goddesses who were the servants of Aphrodite – the goddess of love and beauty. Algaia was the goddess of grace and beauty. Paithea was the goddess of rest and relaxation. Antheia, the third goddess, was the goddess of flowers, blossoms, vegetation and human love – and she speaks to me the most. My client is someone special to me and she is aware of my heritage, and we have a family connection.
